Why does everyone think Kamala was such a bad candidate?

Anonymous
“everyone” does not think that Kamala was a terrible candidate. She was dealt a difficult hand of a 100 day candidacy while being the vice president of an unpopular president in a country in the mood for change. Kamala did well given the circumstances, and despite Trump’s attempts to spin this as a landslide election, it was in reality very close in both the popular vote and most swing states

But it does seem to be the growing and accepted opinion among Democrats that Kamala did a poor job.

These things are not mutually exclusive.

I’m still not convinced by this new story about internal polling. Because she eagerly and gladly accepted the nomination. If it was known to be such a burden to take over for Biden the prices to replace him would have been a lot different.

I voted for Trump and I watched her concession speech on that Wednesday. I think it was the best speech I’ve ever seen her give. She was relaxed, she looked….happy?……… She sounded confident and assured. If the Kamala Harris that gave THAT speech would’ve been the Kamala Harris on the campaign trail, I really think she might’ve pulled it off.

She hid her best self during the campaign, presumably following the advice of campaign managers and consultants. She should’ve just been herself instead.

People who think she interviews well are delusional. Her terrible interviews doomed her 2020 primary campaign. She knows little about policy and doesn’t care much for it (unlike basically everyone else who has ever run for president), making her unable to articulate what she’d actually do in office.

I think she listened wayyyyyyyy too much to her advisors, who clearly were tone deaf out of touch morons.

Or she just has poor leadership skills

But does she? We won’t ever know, because I don’t think we saw the authentic Kamala. We saw Campaign Kamala. She did herself in by not being herself. Or rather, by following the advice of everyone around her who gave us Campaign Kamala.

There’s plenty of blame to go around, and it shouldn’t be all heaped on her.

But the Democrats are fully pushing this narrative that she was a terrible candidate.

A CNN commentator called her a “true double threat” because she could not effectively answer questions thinking on her feet nor did she prepare for expected questions.

She had a great debate, but then “nothing comes to mind” ended her campaign.

She really wasn’t prepared. It’s as if she didn’t want the job. The DNC threw her to the sharks so they could keep Biden’s campaign money.

She put Trump to shame during the debate.
I don’t even think her answer on The View that she couldn’t really think of anything she would do differently from Biden was particularly damning. She is his Vice-President, what the heck could she really have said?

And this is coming from someone who voted for Trump, but I would have done so no matter who was on the Democratic ticket.

She was a fine candidate. the problem was the corporatist mainstrem media that focused on horserace journalism (polling) rather than issues con=mbined with the outright lies and misinformation put out by the right.

Other than…the person who just won his second term.

Well she did lose to a felon predator with dementia so what do you expect flowers and roses? But please cite data that Democrats think Kamala did a poor job -rather than just stating you opinion as fact

But we do know. Her VP office was run like a circus.
