| The American ones have Hispanic undocumented artisans working for them and don’t pay them well. |
True. Across the board the big question is what qualifications do they bring, are they licensed, do they have insurance--the usual stuff that makes a small bathroom update a major financial commitment. |
| We have one quote for 25K, and it took several weeks. A lot of that was because we didn't understand what we wanted vs what was possible and had to keep changing things. |
| Renovated a large master bath and added steam shower/sauna for 30k, not including materials |
Where and when? |
| It’s hard to just find someone that’s reasonably priced that you can also trust not to ruin your house. We had a horrible experience with a company redoing our tile floors and are terrified of making another mistake there. |

Wow, I got an entire 500sf studio bathroom and kitchen done for around 40K and this is in NYC.
17K of that was for labor and I bought everything - even the studs. For comparison, my 7' long kitchen countertop with backplash, the stone for the shower window sill and bathroom counter was $1100. But then, I templated the shape myself and went out to the stone shop about 4 times while to answer questions and monitor. |

I have a 5x7 bathroom and it cost 25k to remodel because its a 100 year old house and the sewer stack had to be replaced as well. This is the Chicago area so also HCOL. No illegal labor involved. |
Lol at Chicago being HCOL. Baby I spent $11 on eggs today. |
| I am in the middle of a total remodel of one bathroom and some minor replacements (new sink & toilet) for the other for about $30K. I am sure it will be more in the end but probably not by much. Both are small bathrooms and nothing was moved. I got two other estimates-- one was for almost $10K less and the other $10K more. Go figure. |
