I just got a pair of wider pants with a small pleat in front. DH said they were a hard no. I'm still debating.
I lost a lot of weight recently and am honestly not liking pants that make me look bigger! |

I’m short so I have to be really careful with volume and length of the pants + the shoe combo, but I’m onboard with the trend. Skinny or narrow pants weren’t working with my middle-aged perimenopause chest even though I have good legs, so the volume of wider pants has been great to adjust the visual proportions of my outfits.
Shoes are the tricky part, though. I basically look at the models online and copy their shoes and so I had to buy a few new pairs this year. |

It is all about proportion. I’m tall and thin but have long legs and a short torso. High waisted wide leg pants make me look horrible. Low/medium rise cropped pants look amazing.
Looking good is understanding how trends work on your body. |
| It may take a few wears, but the look will become more familiar and grow on you. |
those look really nice - do they hit you as a crop like for the model? I'm 5'2" so they are full length on me. I've been flipping the bottom up a bit and I think that looks better so I will probably get them hemmed. |

Not for me.
DD is very tall, thin and toned. Any pants look great on her, but some look better than others. |

I've been wearing versions of Athleta's Venice pant to work for years, thought I wouldn't purchase the current iteration with a white side stripe: https://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=854424032&vid=1&searchText=venice#pdp-page-content
They are fitted at the waist but it's not tight elastic, and the fabric skims the rest of the body in a flattering way. |

I just got wide leg jeans and I am a kindergarten teacher so they seem like a great choice for my day!
Related to that I bought a pair of wide leg overalls from American eagle and they are the softest stretchiest pants I’ve never owned. I wish I could just get them in pants. |
