I wouldn't worry about it, OP. For one thing, they may have liked the fact that the didn't just b.s. them, the way most candidates would, but instead answered them in a straightforward way. I agree with the PP who said that if they already liked him, this would be another reason to like him. (I also agree with the PP who said if he was a woman this would have been fatal!)

I hope he gets a job, too, and I wouldn't overthink it. He is who he is, and he answered honestly, that has to count for something.
