You must be here because no-one invited you to their dinner parties or book groups for your balanced viewpoint or nuanced conversation.

Why don't you think about John Kerry, Teddy Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, Jim Moran, Joe Biden, Tom Harkin, Maria Cantwell?

Are you aware that of Catholics in Congress, 52 are Republican and 105 are Democrats?

No, she's not interested in Math or anything else that might be construed as "thinking." She just has an anti-Catholic chip on her shoulder. Not all bigots can be educated.

Aaaah, now you sound like the one on the witch hunt. I think you do more harm to the reputation of Catholics than she does.

Yes, because pointing out reactionary bigotry = a witch hunt. Thank you for identifying the real villain here.

You don't know that she is a reactionary bigot. She merely pointed to the names of three Catholic politicians that come to mind for her. I don't see how that makes her a proven bigot. They ARE Catholics. I just offered her some alternatives to think of.

You on the other hand, are clearly that same person who starts pulling out the "anti-Catholic bigot" card at the drop of a hat.

Guess what, hon. We don't have a card. Let it go. It's tedious and it makes the rest of us look bad.

I'm 8:28 who posted the original question to OP, but I haven't posted since. I'm not catholic. However, I am offended by the bigot's, well, relentless bigotry. She seems to start a new thread meant to provoke anti-catholic sentiments about every week, when she's not reviving her old anti-catholic threads. On those threads I have posted in favor of calling her out and not bothering to engage her on whatever phony issue she's ranting about this week - there's just no point in engaging her. Insult her and move on.

As I said, I'm not catholic. But I find her offensive, and she also degrades every thread she shows up on. If she stops getting a rise out of people, maybe she'll leave.

I think some of you are taking this a bit too seriously. Whether or not this person is anti Catholic is irrelevant since this voters guide was created by the Catholic church. Hell it could be posted as a service for catholics not as an anti Catholic thread. My 2 cents.

Exactly. It is free republication for the Archdiocese. This isn't Scientology. These things aren't meant to be secret. The priests, bishops, and the Pope say them openly and even to nonbelievers.

I'm completely sure the catholic faith can be defended on reasonable and rational grounds. The problem with the bigot is that she has refused, over and over, to listen to reason. So people end up getting in pointless exchanges with her that go on and on, but she simply closes her ears. There seems to be no end to it.

I just want her to go away. Thus, the strategy of calling her a bigot and not engaging with her.
