| We always cook our turkey on a Weber kettle. Very very easy. Put the charcoal on the sides, put a drip pan in the middle. Optional, but we put strips of bacon on the top and on the legs and change the bacon out every hour, adding more charcoal at the same time. Depending on the size of the bird it’s 2-3 hours. A meat thermometer will keep you from under or over doing it. |
| DH spatchcocks and grills the turkey every year. It always takes less time than he thinks it will and messes up our timing with sides, but not having it cook through (or having it take too long) has never been a problem. |
