You can volunteer to help organize the year end stuff. We did it for our kids. Lots of people help. Then you can check the lists in advance.

Coaches reaction wasn’t great but what would you expect him to do/say? I would have been horrified but at the same time annoyed that after all I’d done that season you chose to light me up for an honest mistake. My guess is they reused a list from last year, added some names and that’s why she was left off. I’m a coach and I’m meticulous when it comes to stuff like this, but I’d say most are not—it’s not because they don’t care, it’s because they are not detail oriented in this way. Or because they have way too much on their plate. Also, having parents help plan end of season events is very helpful (definitely volunteer next year!) but this is another way errors get introduced. Parents still have cheat sheets with rosters/numbers that they refer to at the end of the season and simply do not know the kids as well.
