The voted for the candidate that they best felt would represent their interests, needs, wants, vision, etc etc etc. what was best for them…..

My daughter knows I don't live in fear and hate of Republicans and that I voted for Harris in solidarity with her. In the rest of my life, i go around like every other woman in this town, pretending to be heartbroken and nodding my head when they sob about how half the country hates women. For the same reasons that the majority of those who voted supported Trump. Because he was the "change candidate". Folks are pissed off over inflation and immigration and wanted "change" as has happened with governments around the world over the last few years. Rightly (in the case of immigration) or wrongly (in the case of inflation) the administration in charge when the music stopped gets the blame. I think it's also vibes. Do you like how you're doing financially and how you're feeling? If yes, then you're going to go with the existing candidate (Harris). If not, then you're picking Trump. Most folks vote with their emotions, not over policy. Heck, there was a huge spike in lookups of Project 2025 after the election (just as there was on the EU after Brexit)! That should tell you all you need to know.

At least, that's my take as someone who voted for Harris.
