If I’m buying milk directly from a dairy farm, and there’s no label on it that says “pasteurized”, then a reasonable person should assume it’s probably raw milk and it *might* have pathogens in it. I’d call that “informed consent”. They CHOSE to buy it and give it to their kids. They weren’t being deceived.

I make the *choice* to eat sushi and raw oysters. I know there’s a small chance I could get sick. Maybe even die. Don’t care. I’m still eating sushi and raw oysters.

I made the choice. Otherwise I’d be eating cooked seafood instead. But cooked fish is for Puritans. Yuck.

You’re an awful person. A lot of people aren’t aware of the dangers of raw milk, especially now with the dumb influencers promoting it. Their children shouldn’t have to suffer.

I didn’t think it was legal to sell unpasteurized milk. It’s not something I think about that much because all milk in the grocery store is pasteurized. A lot of Americans don’t even know what pasteurization is because it’s all just milk. If I went on some cute outing with my family to a farm store or a farmers market I probably wouldn’t think much of it unless it was clearly labeled Raw. Sushi is clearly raw just off appearance, milk is not.

But they will. I work in healthcare there's been an increase in outbreaks of illnesses that were previously irradiated. If you don't want to vaccinate your kids please thoroughly do your research so you won't be surprised when your baby ends up in the hospital unable to breathe because you refused a vaccine for them

Of course. They take their kids out of school after 8th grade. They don't vaccinate their children. They have a high rate of genetic disease because they marry from a shallow pool of cousins. Of course, republicans romanticize them. The women don't use electricity to help with housework, but the men are free to use electric tools at work. There are 100k Amish in PA, some of them must be children, but 150k of them registered and votes for a 3x adulterer and rapist.

It's not - which is why usually farms give it away free. With an expected donation. Doesn't sound like that's what happened here though.

I have family in PA and that live around Amish communities. They are strict and independent people.


There are about 92,000-94,000 Amish in PA. Perhaps half are of voting age. It would be very interesting to know how many Amish actually registered and voted. Apparently Amish voted in significant numbers in the 1950s when their children were on the verge of being forced to attend public schools.

And, it sounds like he's had a long line of run-ins with the law over this, seems to me that being strict would be following the law. It should also be noted that the laws he was in violation of were passed by a Republican-run PA general assembly.

But as always the right wing finds some way to blame all Democrats for anything and everything.

Meanwhile I still think we need answers regarding the Trump campaign's boast that they registered 180,000 Amish in PA which far exceeds the number of actual voting-eligible Amish and of those 180,000 registrations, how many were accepted and used to cast ballots.

Did they kill the cows that were endangering public health?
