This is just not true for soccer. Yes, to make varsity as a freshman, you are recruited. But to make the freshman soccer team, some level of travel soccer is fine. That applies to all WCAC schools. Those schools all host summer camps where you can make urself known to the coaches and where they can preview your soccer skills.

There are MANY opportunities, prior to your child’s freshman year of high school, to make your child known to Mark Gibbs. Some free, some not.

DO NOT WAIT UNTIL TRYOUTS TO SHOW UP. This applies to ANY popular sport at a WCAC school. Soccer, basketball, baseball, whatever.

They give out coaches info at various times. Use it. Invest in summer camps. You can’t just show up to try outs in 2024 and expect to make a popular team at these schools.
