Does Georgetown have good school spirit?

What a shame to hear!

I think the only credible response one should put any stock to is the positive one from the only parent who has replied.

It's not about Greek/no Greek. If a large U, which GT is not, has less than 20% Greek participation, the social life for a non Greek is great.

GT is Georgia Tech. Georgetown is GU.

They play at the Verizon Center…the game I recently saw last year was decently attended though many non-students (also possible the opponents had more fans).

Feels like playing off-campus always cuts into student attendance.

It's been Capital One for quite a few years now...

Our DC has spirit for the basketball team And speaking to earlier PP - DC is in SFS and has friends in the business school and in the college....so the "not mixing" info is false.

Many many rich kids at Georgetown.
Make of that what you will

Basketball isn’t the only sport, neither is football. There’s a spirited set of kids who are into the very successful soccer teams, for example. Yes, rich kids (fewer than at GW or Princeton), but also a compact campus with decent social life — both in Georgetown and over in Dupont. And excellent financial aid, which I know firsthand from a good friend whose not-local, great scores child received a terrific package.

My niece is attending now and she loves it. She is not a "rich kid" - she is getting financial aid, and after getting off the WL. Lots of kids there who enjoy great access to all of DC, internships, etc. I will definitely be encouraging my kids to apply.
