If you have a ‘fashion backpack’ for work/travel, do you like it?

petty cow

I'm not a petty cow and I agree with PP. Adults look ridiculous in backpacks unless traveling. And a "fashion backpack?"? come on. Just because someone offers something for sale (lots of students in China use backpacks) doesn't mean it's wise to buy one

That’s like saying a Herman Miller office chair isn’t fashionable. Sure ok, it’s not part of YOUR chosen esthetic. But it’s ergonomically correct and many of them are beautifully designed. Same with backpacks. They are a million times better for your spine and many are much cooler than any LV neverfull, or whatever they’re called, could be.

And YOUR aesthetics are just wrong. A "fashion backpack" on a mature woman is ridiculous, your poor Herman Miller analogy notwithstanding.

You must be super fun.

I can’t be the only one who thought Petty Cow was a backpack brand and went to look it up

I’ve been using this since 2019, and it still looks great.

I’m not in need right now but wow that’s a solid bag if I ever saw one - would be perfect for work travel use, which I don’t really need the “safety” aspect but the size and organization looks great

Leave them alone, it's simply nostalgia.

Would please stop being such an insufferable twat?

Can we get back to the topic, please.

Tumi for something “sleek” and functional and work appropriate

Outdoor type brands for function, comfort and sturdiness

Handbag brands for ‘fashion’ / aesthetic but less function

Basically, Tumi

Let’s make it happen. Great brand name. Could be vegan leather.

I can be pretty hard on bad fashion choices.

But I do not understand the hate this site gives to backpacks. Some backpacks are quite clean and professional looking. Looks far more sleek than showing up with a dumpy neverfull, which is the epitome of UMC but gave up.

Also, despite the protests of this site, there are times when backpacks are the appropriate choice. Like, I’m outrageously busy in my job and often do 30 hour business trips with a single overnight. And the plane will land and I will literally rush straight from the airport to walking into a room of 40 people where I get right on the microphone and start leading the discussion, and from there take clients out for dinner, straight to the hotel and back to the airport in the am. I don’t need a whole suitcase for that, I am dressed like a million bucks because I’m the star of the show - and a backpack works best. I don’t understand the hate.

It’s not a fashion backpack, but I have one that can be either a tote or a backpack:

I usually use it as a tote but for travel it’s great to have the backpack option.
