It also probably sounds more dramatic than it is. A kid was transported by ambulance from my school once after a fight but it’s because the fight was in the bathroom and he fell and hit his head on the sink. His injury wasn’t from some dastardly knife fight that nearly took his life.

DP no, it does not. My child does not engage with people who get in fights so anyone who gets in fights has nothing to do with them. You all are just being nosy and want to know what happened. Do you think your kid is randomly going to get jumped just because they go to the school? No the kids who get jumped Have a history with the people who are fighting.

This very much has to do with you if your children go to this school.

It definitely affects my kid indirectly because he has to go through a metal detector every day and that is a giant PITA and time waste. It does not affect my kid in the sense that I don't think nerdy kids who are super involved in Science Bowl and Math Olympiad are randomly being punched by others for no reason.
