I care about the details. I care about kids fighting at school, kids getting hurt, and even worse outcomes. (As you may recall from the stabbing.)

I also care about the kids who are just trying to go to school and shouldn’t have to witness this cr@p all the time.

Your kids didn’t witness it if you don’t even know one single detail of one happened.

It also probably sounds more dramatic than it is. A kid was transported by ambulance from my school once after a fight but it’s because the fight was in the bathroom and he fell and hit his head on the sink. His injury wasn’t from some dastardly knife fight that nearly took his life.

What is wrong with you?

What’s wrong with me? Nothing, I’m not the busy body trying to find info about a kid I don’t even know who was in a fight. Why do you guys think you’re owed info about kids’ lives that have nothing to do with you?

NP but it does have something to do with you if your kid goes to that school.

DP no, it does not. My child does not engage with people who get in fights so anyone who gets in fights has nothing to do with them. You all are just being nosy and want to know what happened. Do you think your kid is randomly going to get jumped just because they go to the school? No the kids who get jumped Have a history with the people who are fighting.

Lol at thinking you know which kids your high schooler does or does not engage with at school.

Exactly. ADORable. Bonus lol points for thinking that seeing fights at school doesn’t affect kids just because they aren’t “randomly going to get jumped.” You’re so funny!

Exactly. We don't have any guns as a family so we are protected from gun violence.

This very much has to do with you if your children go to this school.

It definitely affects my kid indirectly because he has to go through a metal detector every day and that is a giant PITA and time waste. It does not affect my kid in the sense that I don't think nerdy kids who are super involved in Science Bowl and Math Olympiad are randomly being punched by others for no reason.

Does anyone feel as if our school administrators might be reaching a tipping point here as far as actually doing something about the rampant violence our kids have to navigate in school?

It has gotten out of hand, IMO.

I do not sense that, no. I wish I did but I don’t.
