Hardy sports & academics this year?

Hardy has been great for us. To add to other comments about teams, boys and girls soccer were both recently in the playoffs against Deal.

My kid is into “nerdy” stuff (like the archery team! Can anyone join?) and not sporty. Will he be eaten alive or find his friends?

The archery program is pretty spectacular. The coach is quite the mentor to students. One team member went to nationals last year in archery.

All sports are open to all students. Many of them that have DCIAA mandated team sizes seem to take a “practice squad” now too. These are players not officially on the roster but they practice with the team and go to games with them. Girls lacrosse is a leading example. The track team takes like 40+ kids too.

Are the classes challenging?

Powerful. They got rid of the old under-performing principal relatively swiftly to right the ship a couple years ago.

Yes in math/science. In math, the tracking works beautifully. I wish DCPS would let them do this in writing.

Did anyone go to the Hardy open house a few weeks ago? We missed it and are wondering what people’s thoughts were.
