You may actually have seen one of her videos. My response to the thread title was also "who?" but then I googled and I've seen several of her videos. She has this ASMR voice and a lot of her videos start with her saying something like "my kids said they wanted cereal this morning so I decided to make some from scratch." And then it will show her literally making Cocoa Puffs from scratch (actually I think with that one she made plain corn puffs and then a chocolate version as well). It's riveting the way a lot of cooking videos are -- you just get curious about the process of making breakfast cereal at home and watch to the end. But also the total weirdness of her doing this at all and the way she speaks, combined with the fact that she makes herself up like a silent film star and wears insane clothes while she's doing it makes them more intriguing than your standard cooking tik tok. But she doesn't trigger me because I don't want to do any of that? Her life doesn't look appealing to me and her personality is super weird. I was shocked to learn how young she is because she looks much older (thanks to extremely heavy make up and the way she dresses). It really looks like performance art but I agree with the PP that it's genuine and she's truly trying to "sell" this lifestyle. I truly do not understand why anyone would buy it. |

She is a South African/German model who married another model (Lucky Smith). Lucky grew up Mormon. They married when she was 18 and he was 21. Their kids have great names (Rumble Honey, Slim Easy, and Whimsy Lou). She blew up on social media with her cooking videos. She makes elaborate meals from scratch while wearing super fancy outfits while speaking in a whisper like tone. She has lupus and bad eczema and says that’s why she started cooking from scratch. She said the whispering thing started because her children would often be nearby sleeping while she filmed, and people in her comments liked it, so she decided to make it a thing. I know she’s not really liked here, but I like her videos. She makes crazy stuff from scratch sometimes . Goldfish, cheese it, chewing gum, etc. She has over 11 million followers on TikTok and over 4 million on IG. |

Haha this is true. They do seem kind of boring overall. People say they are trying to sell a lifestyle. Maybe, but when you see them talk in interviews they are pretty regular and normal. Lucky seems like he’s really outgoing and is always smiling laughing, Nara says she has social anxiety and gets nervous when she has to go to public events. I get the impression that she knows that everyone knows her videos are an exaggeration and that the short cooking videos do not represent her life. She often does videos about her struggles with eczema, one time she showed her hands during a flare up and they were practically raw/bleeding in several spots. She also shows them doing regular stuff; eating fast food, grocery shopping, getting take out and eating at home, picking out stuff for their new home they are building, etc. Her comments are often funny. Someone said - up next, Nara makes air from scratch. 🤣 |
