A different vibe that I also make sometimes, the only thing I use Granny Smith Apple instead of grapes, and add dried cranberries or raisins and no sour cream:

I LOVE that curried chicken salad!

I like this recipe. I don't know what is wrong with me but I feel nauseas after eating raw onions. I hate it because they're important in so many recipes.

I also go light on the mayo.

I’d love to share my favorite chicken salad recipe — it’s the one I always make for luncheons, baby showers, and lazy Sunday lunches. Everyone asks for the recipe! 💛

✨ My Favorite Chicken Salad Recipe

Ingredients:

3 cups cooked chicken breast, diced or shredded

1 cup seedless red grapes, halved

½ cup slivered almonds, lightly toasted

½ cup finely chopped celery

¾ cup Duke’s mayonnaise (or your favorite real mayo)

1 tsp lemon juice

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp cracked black pepper

Optional: a pinch of dried tarragon or fresh dill

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine the chicken, grapes, almonds, and celery.

In a smaller bowl, whisk together the mayo, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

Pour the dressing over the chicken mixture and stir gently until everything’s coated.

Chill for at least an hour — it tastes even better the next day!

Serve it on croissants, with crackers, or over crisp lettuce leaves. 🥗

It’s simple, classic, and always a crowd-pleaser. What about you — do you prefer your chicken salad sweet and creamy or more savory and herby?

Another chicken salad I really love is Sassy Scotty — it’s made with shredded chicken, ranch dressing, crispy bacon, and cheddar. Super creamy with a nice smoky flavor! You can check it out here: https://chickensaladchicksmenu.com/chicken-salad-chick-sassy-scotty/

Joanna Gaines curried chicken but I use half the salt because her recipe is really salty.

I like buffalo too but I mix with blue cheese instead of ranch. I like it with shredded iceberg in a wrap.

However I would love your homemade ranch seasoning recipe!

In 2025 how is a thread crowdsourcing generic recipes for something with so individual of preferences like chicken salad even a thing? DCUM can’t agree on anything. So we probably disagree on what ingredients or the consistency or the size of chicken chunks - or if we like chicken salad at all.

OP, you’re on.the.internet. Just Google. Read ratings and comments and see pictures to see what people are saying about each recipe.

Unless you are a troll.

Poach the chicken breasts to cook them.

Shred in the mixer with the paddle attachment.

For any recipe, this makes the chicken so good.
