I always felt that Suave scent was a ripoff of Aveda Rosemary Mint mid-priced salon shampoo. You can get Aveda Rosemary Mint from Amazon. You can also buy drugstore brands off Amazon. Read reviews to make sure the sender packages things carefully to avoid spills.

My favorite shampoo (a less popular drugstore brand) was discontinued about 3 years ago. I'm still in mourning. Good luck out there.

Which shampoo was it?

It was a John Frieda for Dark Blondes product. There are similar variants. Some sites even show the old picture but ship the new variant. It contained chamomile and I really liked the smell. The new recipe doesn't have chamomile or the same smell. And the label is different. I do buy the newer product which is also hard to find. I bought the old version from Amazon until it ran out.

I also like Aveda Rosemary Mint but more as a treat when I get a haircut. I don't use it regularly if I have it around.

I have wavy uncolored hair that tends to be oily and I love Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo for real cleaning without drying. It's not cheap, but it's fantastic stuff. It's not listed as fragrance-free, but I am extremely scent-sensitive and I can hardly detect a scent at all.

Biolage. I like the Cool Mint one.

Ouia Detox Shampoo. I use it once a week. It smells amazing and gets my hair super clean.

Do a weekly clarifying shampoo (goop g tox is the best) and you should have no issues. I also find with the “clean” shampoos it helps to rotate brands.

Is the suave in the oink bottle any good? It smells amazing. I didn't like the suave in the green bottle, both.

Guess what? You don't need to use a sulfate free shampoo. Go back to using whatever works for you, OP.

Every 3-4 shampoos you need to double wash with a clarifying shampoo to remove build up. I use Herbal Essences clarifying but any clarifying one will do. You’ll see a big difference.

If you go sulfate free it’s important you also go silicone free, and a lot of hair products have silicone. If the silicone builds up on your hair you need sulfate or a good clarifying shampoo to break it down.

I use Oribe clarifying shampoo and Briogeo sulfate free shampoo and avoid silicones unless I’m going to an event and I know I can wash my hair very soon after. My hair is so much cleaner without silicones and sulfates.

Shampoo your scalp twice.

The mainstream drugstore brands all still have sulfates. Try something like Dove.
