^ last winter I wore the leggings with sneakers and the fur trench coat look that they show in this article and got countless compliments. Also, it was sooo comfortable.

You can go to Pinterest and search "leggings style ideas" and see a bunch of outfits.

Those examples are terrible! 4x postpartum wearing this?!

I have spent obscene amounts of money on Leggings and these $25 iuga pair are fantastic. Stays where it is supposed to. Comfy. Thick. Flattering. Not see thru. Pockets!

That said, everything is oversized now, so you are at a great time for finding oversized shirts and loose fitting pants that hide whatever it is you want to hide.

Thanks everybody, so much!

If only it were true that the 44+ crowd gets a forever pass. In my gigantic, crumpled linen shorts yesterday I walked into school behind a mom my age who was wearing a sleeveless flesh toned leotard, long leather skirt and python flats. She actually looked amazing — her extreme thinness, simple but legit jewelry and expensive hair sold it, plus she works in the arts world. I can’t compete with that but I have to do something!!!!

By the way, I asked about socks because soon the shoe-legging interface will be the only thing visible. Some people wear more interesting socks with combat boots and Chelsea boots, but how?

I know this is rude to ask, so feel free to ignore..

But WHY in the world would you have a fifth kid at 44?

I like the comfort of leggings under a mini dress, but I, too, am confused about what you do with shoes. Sneakers look off. I think I'd like a bootie if I could find some that felt more like sneakers, but there's that sock interface.

It looks best with flats and no socks but in the colder months that's a problem.

I hear you. I googled it and got this article.

I can see why # 9 is horrible, but # 10 looks fine to me. Do you see the problem?

I'm sorry but what is this?! She's beautiful obviously - but this is a ridiculous "outfit"

And stirrup leggings! I wore those in the 80s

I think I just officially got old

Congrats on the baby, OP

I WFH and I live in leggings. Lulu are my favorite. I wear longer t shirts with a hoodie or longer oversize sweatshirts. For shoes, I don't give it much thought. Birks or cute sneakers.

My maternity leggings were the single most comfortable item of clothing I've ever owned. I would have worn them forever if they didn't pill.
But since that's not what you asked, you might consider something like this:

Top options: Oxford shirts (slightly oversized, I like blue or striped instead of white which I think looks too blah with leggings), flannel shirts, tees, oversized sweatshirts, even short dresses. See what looks good on you. The key is something a little boxy or oversized since your pants are leggings.

Shoes: have fun with cool sneakers and boots.i like classic Reebok's or retro New Balance, and lug sole Chelsea boots.

An easy way to class this up in winter is a long black wool coat. Single button, slouch fit.

Get a great haircut and color. Force yourself to put on whatever makeup makes you feel cute-- mascara or a little blush or whatever.

I dunno, she's got 5 kids. That's a lot of mouths to feed and college educations to save for! Aren't there any cheaper dupes to save OP a little $$$?
