If your kid hasn't completed Algebra II before 10th grade, then this means they're not in the top half or top 75 when it comes to math.

They may benefit from not taking them over a year, not crunched in a semester. Particularly Geometry which, if taught properly, involves 45 minutes of homework *per period*, that would be 1.5h per day on a block schedule (if taught properly).

Where did you get that "45 minutes per period" claim from?

By using a timing device (aka clock) when I watched my child do it for a year.

I actually agree with this. Geometry is weirdly time-intensive when it comes to homework even if the homework isn't difficult. Algebra II required a lot of repetitive work (unless that kind of thinking comes naturally to your kid, which it probably doesn't if this is a sophomore year question). I think that combining the two would make test and finals prep really challenging.

Isnt Geo a 9th grade class?

Geometry is considered a 10th grade class. Most schools consider Algebra 1 in 8th grade as advanced and Algebra in 9th grade to be the normal pace.

Way back when, I took Alg 1 and 2 in the summer to skip to Trig in my sophomore year. I was not great at math and taking a rushed course was not the best idea. Best part is that I didn't even take math beyond my sophomore year and stopped at trig. Good news is that I didn't do anything in life that requires math skills.

If your kid is interested in STEM, don't rush through math. There are plenty of schools that offer a remedial math option for students who couldn't get there in their course sequence but still want to pursue a STEM program.
