Yeah...what could possible be worse than what we already know about him?
From his Wikipedia page" "In 2021, Robinson said regarding women: "Once you make a baby, it's not your body anymore—it’s y'all's body. And, yes, that includes the daddy."[38][39]" "Prior to running for lieutenant governor, he frequently made Facebook posts that invoked antisemitic stereotypes and downplayed the harms of Nazism.[44][45] He claimed that the Marvel movie Black Panther was "created by an agnostic Jew and put to film by satanic Marxists" that was "only created to pull the shekels out of your Schvartze pockets" (using a Yiddish word for "black people").[9][8] Robinson also appeared at an interview with fringe pastor Sean Moon, who claimed that he planned to become "king of the United States"; in the interview, Moon claimed that the Rothschild family was one of the "four horsemen of the apocalypse" and promoted the antisemitic conspiracy theory of a cabal of Jewish "international bankers" that rule every country's central bank. Robinson endorsed Moon's claim as "exactly right".[43] Robinson's statements, as well as his refusal to apologize for or retract them, drew much concern from the leaders of North Carolina's Jewish community,[11] as well as criticism from the Jewish Democratic Council of America and the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC).[44] Robinson declined to publicly apologize for any of his remarks, although he said he privately apologized to local Jewish leaders in a meeting in 2021.[44] In 2022, Robinson said that his Facebook post about Black Panther was "the only time I've ever apologized for anything I put on Facebook" and said "I knew the truth of what I was trying to say, but I should have chosen different words."[31]" "In March 2023, more of Robinson's past social-media statements emerged, including Facebook posts appearing to call the figure of 6 million Jews perishing in the Holocaust into question;[45] for example, Robinson wrote: "this foolishness about Hitler disarming MILLIONS of Jews and then marching them off to concentration camps is a bunch of hogwash,"[2] and "There is a REASON the liberal media fills the airwaves with programs about the NAZI and the '6 million Jews' they murdered."[45] " " Robinson said that heterosexual couples are "superior" to gay couples because the latter cannot conceive a child together.[49] Robinson compared homosexuality to cow manure, maggots, and flies, explaining that the latter all serve a purpose in God's creation; whereas, with homosexuality, Robinson remarked, "If homosexuality is of God, what purpose does it serve? What does it make? What does it create? It creates nothing."[50]" "Robinson in 2016 condemned women who breastfeed in public as "shameless attention hogs".[55] Robinson surmised in 2017: "The only thing worse than a woman who doesn’t know her place, is a man who doesn’t know his".[55]" "After the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, Robinson mocked the teenage survivors, repeatedly disparaging them in personal terms,[63] calling the Parkland survivors "spoiled, angry, know it all CHILDREN"; "spoiled little bastards"; and "media prosti-tots".[63] He has additionally stated that mass shootings are "karma" for abortion, and has baselessly placed blame for them on gun safety activists.[64]" |
That’s why I suggested “serial killer” or serial prostitute choker. But really I think the simplest explanation is the most likely: something bad but the real crime, at least to the GOP, is that he’s dragging down the ticket. I’m pretty sure NC is a must win for Trump. |
Short of an underage boy I don’t see what could be so terrible for MAGAs. |
Can Republicans replace Robinson if he drops out today? Or would they just not have a candidate for governor and essentially give that election to Democrats in order to minimize the damage to Trump? |
This is OP - and I think if this were a Dem leak, they'd have waited until tomorrow to drop it. Why risk having a better candidate come in to take his place? Today he can still drop out - tomorrow it's too late. I think this comes from nervous Rs who don't like how he's polling. |
You call it ratf**king. I'd call it reporting on what they have truthfully done, not like your MAGA "created" nonsense. I hope he stays in and the NC GQP doubles down on him. |
But haven’t Republicans in NC already had their state convention? How could they get a new nominee in just a few hours? |
Per the Carolina Journal the NC GOP elites would choose in a backroom:
I mean, I'm sure the NC GOP would rather Robinson's wife fill the term if he somehow died before Election Day. |
I assume NC Democrats could tie this up in court? |
Maybe Stein's campaign leaked it to CNN under the condition that they wait until Friday to release the story. CNN has been very friendly to GOP folks this cycle, giving them lots of airtime and cultivating better relationships with GOP in DC. CNN may have unilaterally decided to move early before the deadline. |
"[NCGOP meeting] Ok so we nominated the Hitler quoting Holocaust denier porn addict guy who robbed Girl Scouts and thinks women shouldn't vote. Unfortunately, it turns out he also did some bad stuff." |
Republicans don’t let the concept of not exposing everyone to COVID stop them from doing anything. Especially this guy. I know ballot printing was extended or redone after RFK dropped out, but certainly ballots are ready being printed. Isn’t it too late? Rooting for him to stay. That could be what puts Harris over the edge in NC — NC native. |
But why the urgency to drop out today if it’s already too late to remove Robinson’s name from the ballots? |
It's clearly allowed under state law: https://www.ncleg.gov/EnactedLegislation/Statutes/PDF/BySection/Chapter_163/GS_163-113.pdf The overseas and military ballots get mailed out tomorrow. So he'd need to resign today in writing and the NC GOP would need to name a replacement by 11:59pm tonight. Robinson's name will still be on the ballot though. |
Robinson's replacement would get any votes for "Mark Robinson" on the ballot, plus any write-in votes, if replaced today by the NC GOP. It's easier to replace the candidate than mount a write-in campaign. |
