DC Public and Public Charter Schools
No, DCPS did NOT win "Race to the Top". OSSE did. Which means the DC Charters did.

| I hate the philosophy behind race to the top, and I applaud Virginia in particular for defending the program they have in place and not playing ball. That being said, cold hard cash for schools is always nice. Why only 34 charters? Anyone know which ones? I wish they all could get a dose (considering this mayors charter unfriendly ways) - and I'm happy on behalf of dcps schools too to get a boost. |

| There were only a few charters because the administration of the grant is too burdensome. You should look at the application to see how crazy it is. It will be another empowerment zone fiasco. |
