Pine nuts!

Anonymous
Piñon nuts are best when purchased from a guy in a truck on the side of the road in northern New Mexico.

One time in Flagstaff, AZ, I happened across someone who was selling pine nuts from Nevada that were about 4x the size of regular piñons. Those were awesome.

This was a couple of years ago impacted everything I tasted for a week or more afterwards. It took me a while to figure out what was going on. I am guessing they changed where they sourced them from.

I'm sorry to hear that. I switched to Walnut or pistachio or almond or pecans in my pesto after learning about the potential problem. Made it hard for me to enjoy pine nuts.

I buy at Costco and store in the refrigerator to prevent them from going rancid.
