What do you buy at IKEA?

Candles. If furniture then real wood only which is all pine.

I walked through there a month ago looking to furnish a kid's bedroom and left with nothing. The cafe smelled terrible too.

Cribs!

Buy this one:

https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/sniglar-crib-beech-50248541/

It’s one of the most inexpensive cribs you can buy but also the safest in terms of materials, safety regulation compliance, and VOCs. We did a ton of research and this is the crib you want. Because it’s sold worldwide, it has to be compliant with the strictest safety and material regulations (typically those in European counties). It’s solid beech, extremely durable, and easy to assemble.

Everything except pillows. They are affordable modern and minimalist.

I'm fascinated how Ikea keeps cutting quality while raising prices. Their hundred-dollar plus bookshelves are made of paper! (in my head I said that in a "soylent green is people" way)

Paper napkins
Book cases
Bath mats
Ottomans

Perimenopausal women: IKEA’s lightweight comforters are the BEST for staying cool at night!

There's one near me. I recently bought a strainer. My friend bought a large pink bookcase. I bought a child's blanket there. My brother bought a bookcase. I bought food storage containers there.

I only go there when I need something specific, like storage for kids' stuff. Then I'll browse the food section and eat lunch there.

Some things if you need them: storage for kids' toys, every day drinking glasses, plastic kids' cups and bowls, towels, bath mats, and folding chairs.

Quality has gone down, and my expectation for furniture has gone up. You misssed the IKEA heyday. I’ve been going since the 90s (my dad was a fan, and I decorated my dorms with ikea stuff in the mid 90s). At least eat in the cafe, but the prices have gone way up. I think you can find nice glasses and white plates, kitchen stuff. The curtains we bought there recently were a terrible fabric.
