Day 6 Assisted Hatching at SGFC

im holding back tears as i right this message!! i was dressed and ready to go just as i recived that heart breaking phone call.. that they have cancelled my day 3 transfer due to my embryo developing slowly its only 5 cells. they opted for a day 6 transfer but im scared seeing how i only have one embryo that has made it this far!!!! should i insit for them to put the embryo in on Monday or should i just waite it out the extra 3 days?? pls help this is my first ivf treament.. sooo sad alone confuesd

I would recommend having this conversation with your re. You have basically two options...transfer one embryo now or wait until later. There must be some reason the re wants to risk waiting for it to develop a bit longer. See what the rationale is and decide what you think.

OP, I wanted to chime in to let you know that I got pregnant on a day 6 transfer at Shady Grove a couple of years ago. I transferred two embryos and am pretty sure that one of them was hatched when it was transferred, based on the picture. I am not sure if they did assisted hatching or not - I never discussed it with them and was not paying out of pocket. I also ended up having two left over to freeze from that cycle, and I think the reason they went to day 6 was to see which ones were doing the best. Best of luck to you.

I have a retrieval tomorrow, and am wondering when the 'counting' of days starts. Is retrieval day (its early in the morning) day 1, or is the following day day 1?
