Good suggestion.

Stick with just Lyon and enjoy it. A previous poster listed some great options. The Parc de la Tete d’Or is great for a bike ride. Walk around vieux Lyon, head to croix rousse and explore. Eat, wander, and just chill. The time will go by quickly. I would not try and cram in more side trips.

Of course Paris is iconic and if she's never seen the louvre or eiffel tower then that's something you would want to do, although I'm not even sure if youd have enough time in Paris to cover that. If it were me I would explore Lyon and maybe the surrounding countryside (there are towns in the nearby Alps that are very cute)

OP here. Just an update that we ended up taking the redeye on Tuesday, and landing on Wednesday afternoon.

We stayed in Paris Wednesday and Thursday nights. We spent Thursday at L'Orangerie, Arc de Triumphe, Galleries LaFayette, Eiffel Tower, and just wandering around and shopping and eating.

We took the train to Lyon on Friday and went to the concert Friday night. We walked all around Lyon on Saturday, and it was very cute.

On Saturday, we took an early train to CDG but ended up getting off a stop early and going to Disneyland for several hours b/c our flight wasn't until 5pm.

Thank you everyone for the advice!
