FVU Away Conference Travel Fees

Sounds like you definitely have a reason to complain then. Website does show $500 to be expected for team dues, but honestly this sounds like someone didn't build the budget properly at the club.

VDA's club fee is $4,200 this is all inclusive. Sounds like FVU got greedy.

I would ask for a breakdown of what the team fee is going to cover. $500 for bus rides seems excessive.

Longtime VDA parent here. Parents were outraged by the increase in fees until we found out there are no more team fees.

I’d rather drive DD with another parent and DD rather than have a fee for DD bus/hotel plus my own travel expenses.

I wouldn't say greedy, likely just either misleading or they built the budget wrong. When this whole mess went down maybe they wanted to show fees on the surface to be cheaper than competing clubs is all. Now after all is said and done they're basically at what the other local ECNL clubs are charging.

Entry fees for 2 non-ECNL tournaments
Team Scrimmage Referee Fees
Team Equipment
Coaches travel cost
Away fixture travel costs- This covers the transporting of balls, VEOs, and other additional gear that teams may need.
*Additional Tournaments: If a team
attends an additional tournament, a separate registration will be created for that specific team

I assumed buses and assumed that would be an extra fee as it has at a few clubs I’ve been with in the past.

Not a VDA parent but I thought the club fee had always included the team fee? Maybe this was new for this year?

All these team trips were billed outside of dues, we paid 300ish per trip last year. I'm not happy they took those team trips away, there doesn't seem to be any reason why either. But to address your concern, you were NOT robbed. That 500 had nothing to do with the team trip fees.

op is spot on. The 500 was supposed to cover travel to the two away fixtures.
Whether that was just the busses or shared hotel wasn’t clear to me but at minimum I assumed I was paying for busses so 500 seemed reasonable to pay upfront.

There are no coach travel fees bc it’s all local games) other than the fixtures.
The 2 tournaments cost 100-150 per player at most.

I guess I am with OP that we should see some relief even if only marginal to account for no busses. Unless each team has $12k + of expenses beyond busses?
