Because I don't drive a lot. It gets about 20mpg and I have 20k miles on it in 3 years. |
"town" where do you live? |
|
Maybe $30 on average? Rav4 Hybrid, both work mostly from home (the one that has some in-office time uses public transportation). Use the car for Costco and Home Depot trips (maybe 2/month total), quick pickup and dropoff from school (about a mile each way), occasional visits to friends and family in MD and VA, and about 3 or 4 driving trips per year.
I never know what gas costs, I just filll up on every third or fourth Costco run. It's lovely. |
That's a lot of driving in my book. I did 17k in 5 years. My car is there for convenience. Not driving it a lot has kept my car expense very low. |
A small town in northern Kentucky. |
| Honda Odyssey, about 2 tanks a month. Each time is about 18 gallons x whatever 87 octane is when I buy gas. I think most recently it was about $55 to fill up at Costco. |
Yeah, me neither. I'd have to add a zero to some of them to even get close. |
Nice. Are you originally from the DC area? |
I drive hours a day. |
So not even a full tank per month? |
| 50$/month for 3 cars. 2 EVs and one hybrid that the teen drives to school and activities. 1 EV charges at home and one for free at work. |
Well add a Tesla to my prior response then. I was only answering for the hybrid vehicle as obviously the Tesla answer is $0. |
Are single family houses available there? Are these like many offers, overbids and waived inspections? Looking for a place less dense that's easy to get a single family. |
There are a few in Hardinsburg starting at $130,000. |
| $200 for an SUV |
