Why would all of the windows be left open?

I can guess.
We recently moved into a house in Vienna. It's a 50s rambler with a finished basement. The basement smells like basement. So much so that I don't love going down there. The upstairs smells like old house/basement. It is especially bad after a big rain. I've ordered some Damprid things, hoping that will help. Also hoping that it will disappear in the winter (I've read it can). In the mean time, all of my windows are open all the time. I admit that I have a sensitive sense of smell. But -- windows open. |
