Few years ago, we went to an open house without bringing our agent (I can't remember if we signed the working together agreement or not). When we decided to put an offer on the townhouse, we contacted our agent and told her to put the papers together. There was a significant disagreement between the agents over the commission as it was the seller's agent who talked to us about the TH.
I wonder if it's a coincidence our great offer was denied. |
| I went to a few before I got a buyer's agent and found my house. I think that if you're not *quite* ready to buy (as in see a house and put an offer in that day), it makes sense to get a better idea of what's out there than you could just looking at pics on realtor.com. the downside would be if you actually found a really great house, you probably wouldn't be able to move quickly on it without financing, etc. in place. |
