No kidding. The $$$$$$ above was that you have to pay for colelge and those schools are among the most expensive. A D3 high academic is not a play for money -- it is a play to get admitted to a great school that you may be qualified for (or maybe slightly but just slightly below) but that you may not get into. JHU is a great example. They have more qualified applicants than they can take -- your DD may or may not get in even if she has the stats. But with soccer she gets in. Whole top 25 plus other top schools are a lottery --- you take the lottery out of it. But you still pay. |

You might get merit money. But no one should count on it for the high academic D3s. |
ummmm, Yes Just look at Hopkins recruiting, or any UAA school. It’s ECNL/GA kids only. Top D3 better than bottom of D1, competitive with lower to mid D1. It’s the reality of pay-to-play. If parents can afford it, then playing soccer at MIT or Carnegie Melon is better than playing soccer at Le Moyne, Prairie View or Nicholls. |
