They test the water every year and list where you can't drink. Or do at my school. |
| What do the union say or do for this mold issue? They should take action if not being addressed. |
This isn't new and going on many years. Especially at older schools who haven't had renovations. Mask up. |
Baltimore City teacher. Our school has just started the renovation process so hopefully in a few years, there won't be any moisture issues. Working for my district is like being in an abusive relationship. You just get used to it that it no longer seems as bad as it really is. |

MCPS has multiple schools with mold, asbesdos, rodents, falling tiles, but only does the minimum to fix it.
Electric buses or building a new high school that Hungerford staff can attend (when adjacent schools are under capacity and could be boundary shifted) are more important to fund. |
We need teachers and staff to help expose the real state of the buildings publicly to the media. The only thing MCPS responds to is bad press and lawsuits. |
They can''t or they will be fired. |
You can do so anonymously, as the teachers who exposed Beidleman to the WaPo did. |
Brass fixtures in drinking fountains erode over time to leach lead. That is why people should use the filtered water fountain stations to get drinking water. Those are found in, and around, cafeterias usually. |
Did any media cover this? |
Did anyone go to the media with the evidence? |
Tell your children to use the water fountains that are filtered. |
Ok, Cram. |
| Any update from mcps? |
As long as any mold is in schools located east of Connecticut Ave, it's all good. |
