No one wants to care for 3 toddlers and be reasonable for housework.
But as our children grew and started school, we couldn't offer the same hours of childcare to our nannies, and the nannies were happy to do housework during off time instead. (One nanny/housekeeper stayed 7 years, another stayed 2 years, but only because she wouldn't relocate with us.)

However, if you hire an entitled European b**** who thinks that she's worth $120,000 a year at age 20, then no. She's never going to want to do housework. Let her look for her sugar daddy instead

You are trying to justify treating your nanny like a main because you're lazy. It doesn't matter if your kids are in school because you need her for sick days, holidays, snow days, etc.

How is PP lazy, exactly? Please enlighten us. Are we lazy if we aren’t scrubbing toilets at 11 PM after working a full day, followed by homework, bathtime, feeding kids dinner, and doing the laundry?

Working moms are, on the whole, probably the least lazy demographic out there.

You either scrub your toilet or HIRE A HOUSE CLEANING SERVICE. Nannies are not house cleaners. If you were asked to clean the toilets in your office you would have a fig.

🏹 another entitled b****, who thinks her worth is $120,000 per year at age 20 and without even a Bachelor's degree.

If a nanny wants the additional hours to clean , who the f*** are you to say that she can't take them? How exactly does your babysitting experience quality you to discuss labor practices?

I just had to let go a nanny that wouldn’t do any pickup whatsoever. She wouldn’t put kid dishes in the dishwasher, wouldn’t make the kids pickup after an activity and wouldn’t clean any of their messes herself either. I have very easy going kids and was paying a lot, but I can’t come home to a trashed house every day. She’d cook meals and just leave the pots dirty on the stove. Kids even took a 2 hour nap in the middle of the day so she did have spare time.

NO-Nanny should only perform as a NANNY and not a housekeeper. Right, your kids are ‘very easy going’ says the Narcs that doesn’t see herself in the mirror- Do all those chores yourself and quit complaining and btw all nannies are entitled to BREAKS!! Glad the nanny was let go, she deserves a better employer and better pay

Oh my goodness this again.

No one should advertise for a “nanny” and then surprise the nanny with additional tasks beyond childcare and the relevant cleaning/tidying that accompanies caring for those children.

That said, employers can post a job and describe the job duties and what they are willing to pay for that job.

Employees are free to apply or not apply to said job.

Freedom of contact is okay. The market will determine.

Cleaning up kids messes is standard for nannies.

Only if the kids made the mess while she was on the clock.

So let’s say kids wake up at 6 am. They play for a bit in the playroom and then eat breakfast. Nanny shows up at 8 am. Do you honestly expect mom to pick up the playroom at 8 am in her business suit, before heading to work? And dad to move his AM meetings so he can clean up from breakfast since it occurred before nanny was “on the clock”? Is it really that big of a deal for a nanny to put some dishes in the dishwasher? Wtf.

kids dishes, yes. Grown ups' dishes, no.

Nannies have choices. The joke is on you. The experienced ones will never allow this. Why have a nanny if you secretly think so low oh them. Makes no sense. We know when our employers think they are superior and we will find another job right away.

For the ignorant MOMS: Don’t you know that a lot of career nannies have a BA and even MA?? A lot of them are former teachers that work as Nannies as hey get way better pay and benefits - obviously and very unlikely you wouldn’t be able to offer top pay and treat the nanny with dignity
