Play Airlines

Did you all feel like the savings of the few hundred was eaten up by luggage fees and food fees?

I’m wondering if I check three bags and pay for 5 carryons if I’m spending the same as British Airways or Virgin.
Just price it out yourself. I’m sure it’ll vary depending on your dates and destination. I had two screens open, added the exact same things to the carts (refundable ticket, baggage, etc.), compared everything, and booked the lower price. Food didn’t factor into the equation for me. I always bring my own when flying anyway.

Yeah, I think you need to price out your specific scenario. My family of four just flew Play and we checked four bags and still saved money (more than just a few hundred, I think. The savings added up because there were four of us). We put that money towards nicer Airbnbs in Iceland. The seats are uncomfortable and it was annoying that they left the lights on for the duration of our overnight trip there. But Play got us there and back without much hassle.

Hope that they at least keep their schedules flights through Summer 2025, for those who might have already purchased tickets. But as usual, long haul cheap airlines simply can't survive. It's not a viable business model.

I should show my son your comment so he knows how lucky he is that we always put him on United E+ and then upgrade him to a business class seat.

How is that a helpful contribution to this conversation?

For any who might have considered this airline, as predicted they are ending flights to the US.
