Mine rode the bus in K and had no issues.
|
| Let them ride the bus with neighborhood friends that they have and will make |
| I'd teach the kid to walk. A 20 minute walk is nothing! |
+1 Yes mine loved the bus. Kids are generally well behaved and listen to the bus driver. Now that oldest is going to middle school I am concerned about bullying etc. on the bus. I also cannot be anywhere near my DC even for drop-off at the bus stop as they would be embarrassed by my presence. The dynamics are very different compared to elementary. |
| My kid adored the bus. |
| Yes. They liked the bus. Often, the kindergarteners sit up front close to the driver. You can tell your child to try to find a seat up front. Honestly, the worldly stuff (bad words or behavior) doesn't catch on until later - when kids are a little older and sitting further back with the older kids. The bus is a good first step toward independence. |
| Mine all did great on the bus and remained almost overly sheltered for years. You may as well try it and see. |
| Yes, of course - the older kids look out for the kindergartners. It's really sweet. I remember when my daughter was in K and was so nervous about taking the school bus and the patrol held her hand to her on the bus and got all the kids to cheer for her and give her high fives. |
