I was there. The acoustics were not an issue. Don't make up problems. |
Way too small, not enough parking, too expensive. |

Rockville graduated at Strathmore—first thing that popped up when I googled. I still think graduating at the actual HS is best. Do it in the evening when it’s cooler outside. Stream it. |
Sure, but that was 11 years ago, when Rockville had an enrollment of 1300. No school besides Poolesville is that small now. |
|
In the 90’s, MCPS used the Kennedy Center for some graduations.
UMBC is way better than the headache of DAR. |
| So many whiners out there. My goodness. Get over yourself. |
| My son thought UMBC was a mediocre experience, he wanted it at DAR instead. Not sure why. |
MCPS TV provides streams in better quality, but the biggest downside is that they only provide those for the graduations held at DAR, so UMBC or MSM (Mount St. Mary’s) graduations are going to be out of luck. I know NFHS streamed graduations for the graduations at the school stadium (Blair and Damascus), and the quality was pretty good for those too. |
| I love this idea. We give Mc a ton of money. |
MCPS TV better get working streams for non-DAR graduations. |
|
I think DAR and UMBC are fine -- I'm not why this, of all things, is an issue.
|
Nonsense. My kid's high school graduation at UMBC in June 2024 was live-streamed. |
| Both my kids graduated at DAR and it was fine. They let the kids vote between having it at DAR or on the school's football field, and they overwhelmingly chose DAR. You just need to reserve parking in advance and walk a couple of blocks. Not really a big deal for a once in a lifetime event. |
True enough. But MCPS gets only 6-8 slots at DAR each year. There still needs to be another site. |
| DAR was really lovely. |
