It is not the pool. It is the fact that Waynewood elementary is all white.

Op - right I get that (I guess). What I don’t get is why all the fuss about elementary school when they all funnel into the same middle and high school? Or does everyone just leave for private after elementary?

We moved to Riverside Gardens a year ago and couldn’t be happier. My kids aren’t school age yet, but all of our neighbors seem happy with Stratford Landing Elementary. The pool is just the right size for our needs. Everyone is really friendly and there are lots of community events. No regrets.

I see enough West Potomac signs around here to believe that a significant number are going to public school. So yeah, they are all going to end up together eventually.

My kids go to fort hunt and we have had a great experience and my house was at least 100k cheaper than it would have been. People in WW tend to be very high on themselves/the school. Don’t recommend.

How is this a good thing?

How is it a bad thing?

You’re comparing a predominantly white neighborhood in 2024 to Jim Crow era segregation. Touch grass.

You mean how is segregation a bad thing? What?

The area up near Belle View elementary has much nicer housing stock imo.

I think a lot of it is that the houses in waynewood are slightly larger. Stratford and fort hunt housing are pretty small and on smaller lots. Belle haven, pockets on the river and a few neighborhoods further south just have larger and grander homes and lots
