Time for Nursing Home?

OP, 2-4 months is not long. Has your husband considered taking FMLA leave to be with his Dad for awhile and help out?

If your FIL is in hospice believe me they push the morphine and FIL may have less than 2 months.

Also, can your husband work remote from FIL's house?

I’ve had four elderly relatives in hospice and they most certainly do not push the morphine. Shame on you for perpetuating this lie.

President Carter has been on hospice at home for a year and a half now - he entered at home hospice care in February 2023.

I am an attorney who has spent the last 8 years working in home health care, mostly with hospice status elders and some younger people with terminal illnesses.

I have had a number of patients who were officially hospice status at home or in a facility for well more than a year, my last was on hospice for nearly two years.

Doctors can say what they will about time left on the books, but they are often guessing.

Just something to think about.
