Scared to start Lexapro

I have been on Lexapro.

My advice is, where it is prescribed - take it as prescribed.

I would not focus on those side effects sheets. They have to give those to you but most people don't get the side effects or, the benefit outweighs the drawback.

Take it, like anything it takes a bit of time to take effect. Focus on something else.

Communicate with you doctor on how its working, after giving it a chance and some time.

One reason lexapro is an anti-anxiety mediciation tried first is because it comes in incremental doses - 5, 10, 15, 20 mg (using 5s and 10s you can get to the 15). So you can gradually ramp up and try different doses. Don’t start cutting pills unless your psychiatrist approves it.
