Are people appearing to be sick over there? COVID is going around Europe.

I think like your reports too. I'm fine with a separate thread. I probably wouldn't have noticed it otherwise. If other posters have a problem, they can report it and your threads will be consolidated if the moderator agrees.

Don't let the cranks turn you off from posting. Thanks!

Two of us had 2 different kinds of fish, one had a creamy chicken, and one had Mac n cheese (trust me, this wasnt Kraft). Desserts - bread pudding with cream anglaise, cherry kirsh/Gelato that delicious, a floating egg custard that I don't remember the name of, and a sampler with little bites of lots of items (that kid didn't like many of, and shared with mom and dad)

Sounds delicious!

We're at Olympic events through Wednesday, and depart Thursday morning to another country to stay with family.

The AirBnB was booked well over a year ago, but my thinking is $3k for the week? It's a 3 bedroom, 1 W/C and a separate room with a shower. Does not have A/C (fans in every room though). Location is great, can walk to 2 different metro stops, tons of restaurants, 2 groceries stores, and even a hardware store where bought a tarp for the opening ceremonies when we realized about the rain - which we didn't use, because we were standing against a fence, with about 12-15 rows of people standing behind us.

+1 I like the reports! Keep them coming

Have you used Uber or taxis at all? I have friends going tomorrow who are wondering how that situation is.

Serious question OP; have you ever been out of the US before?

Maybe she hasn't been to a city that's hosting the Olympics. That what makes this report unique. No need to be condescending.

I'm hoping to go to the 2028 myself

Not OP, but taxi and private car drivers I spoke to during a June trip to Paris anticipated horrible traffic due to road closures and needing to work around them. If you do need a taxi, download the g7 app; makes getting a taxi as easy as Uber and you can request English speaking drivers

Don’t mean to be condescending, just curious. Because it reads like someone who hasn’t traveled before but maybe has a specific reason to be at the Olympics (parent of an athlete perhaps).

NP. Great thread. OP sounds neither self-absorbed nor naive. Please keep posting
