Is anyone else boring and mostly content with it?

Count me in on boring! Though I prefer "calm" life. I love to read, do puzzles, have a quiet house, eat simply. I try to keep my errands local. Check in with friends via text every couple of weeks.

I am just like you OP!

(Well kind of - like another poster stated, I do not have the energy to deeply scrub my shower…..or ANYthing else for that matter! 😅)

I am poor too, I live in a basic apartment (no a/c, dishwasher or washer + dryer.)
I am fifty-five w/kids grown & out of the house.
No grandchildren!

I work full-time and in my free time I am usually doing my laundry at the local laundromat, reading a good book or watching something interesting online.

I have friends that I can socialize with and do so on occasion.
I am single and very happy w/that as I have had a ton of bad relationships in my past.

I am grateful to enjoy perfect health (knock on wood.)
My kids are healthy and thriving and I have a good car now.
I have a roof over my head, a warm bed to sleep in every night along w/ample food in my kitchen as well as clean water.

I never travel but am fortunate to live in a city where there is a ton of beauty, landmarks and stuff to do!

So objectively I find life to be very good. ✨

OP, please don't think that people who have more money than you and travel are "interesting." Most are not, even though they think they are.

In reality most people are boring because they only like to talk about themselves. Just be content within yourself and focus on entertaining YOU.

As long as you’re okay with it.

OMG, SO TRUE!

Totally. Traveling is pretty basic these days. Everyone going to same places, doing the same things and taking the same pictures.

Not to mention the lines, delays, etc. Unless you are a billionaire in your pj, it sucks.

Me! Reading, watching tv, gardening, hanging out with my kid and our dog that’s all i really need.
Kid will be off to college in too short a number of years though and I’m beginning to worry about that a bit. I don’t really want to date but I often wonder if I should.

That sounds ok. The only thing I’d worry about is dementia. It’s not good to go all day without talking to anybody, though I do that too.

Yes.

I was considered quite the oddball in college.

This is the most positive real thread I've ever read on here-love it! Just be YOU-so true.

HA-same pics! This is so true. I do try and go to the beach every year with my family to get away from it all. I want to live in a small quiet beach town and have a simple life... for now we go to the beach when we can. I love kayaking on quiet flat water, hiking, or reading on the beach. I love my dog and walking with him every day. My teenagers have pretty exciting lives and as a PP said sometimes that stresses me out but I do what they need and like seeing them happy

Thanks for this post OP.

If I can talk to someone about kids, their pet, and books, that is like a home run in terms of interesting (to me). Bonus points if they like gardening and birds or crafts. I'm getting excited just thinking about it.

Besides traveling, what are parents doing that’s so exciting? Running marathons?

OP, what kind of job do you (and others on here) have? Just curious, as I find it very tiring to be extroverted just for work. I have to be though.
