To Jeff's OP, since Washington is essentially a one paper town, where else should the quotes come from? The Times is a 'nationally focused' publication - its metro section was never much of anything even when they published daily.

Yhe ity Paper and the Current are two examples of papers that are serious about covering the City without being cheering sections for a particular candidate.

Dont leave out the Washington Examiner. Lord, they are all better than the drastic Washington Biased Post

There are also a ton of blogs, most particularly DCist.com, GreaterGreaterWashington.Org, Prince of Petworth etc.

There is no shortage of good online coverage beyond the Washington Post. Readers of these blogs, teh Examiner and the City Paper are going to be much more informed about how the city government is operating and the 'players" who are raping the city of its funds.
