Religious exemption question for private day care

Are you planning to lie on applying?

Also, usually you would be told whether there is a spot for your child before you submit the health forms and other state required paperwork. Once they tell you there is a spot if would be difficult for them to deny you the spot because you claim the exemption. I don't think it should matter if they are non-profit or for profit.

Extremely helpful, thank you. Actually, he is all enrolled and everything, and start to set next week, but they just called to say that his vaccine form was not signed, and the doctor will not sign it since he is not up-to-date.
I’m feeling a little bit scrambled, hence the post.

I do appreciate the information without judgment.

Anti-vax isnt a religion, no matter how crazy they both are.

Are you prepared for your kids classmates baby brother to die from measles because of your beliefs op? Daycare is a crazy germ spreader. Just keep your kid at home.

It is usually on their website if they accept them.

If not, call and ask.

In DC they have to accept a religious or medical exemption from vaccines.

However, if there is an outbreak of a contagious disease (I don't believe the regs name specific diseases so centers have some leeway in how they apply this), the center can exclude your child from attending until the cases have disappeared. This is to protect your unvaccinated child from the disease.

Don't trust daycares in religious buildings. They don't need to be licensed or get inspections

What did you expect was going to happen?

Can you explain which vaccines he didn’t get and how your religion explains this is a good idea? I’m curious? I don’t remember vaccines being in the Bible?

This is not always true. Our preschool is in a church; they are licensed and get inspections from the state and county.

It’s a non profit day care but does accept state grant money.

Thanks!

You'll know for sure by asking them. Anything else is a guess.

Yes in Maryland this is a requirement. The religious exemption would only apply to childcare during church/Sunday school (or similar).

Why do people care so much if others’ kids are not vaccinated? Before this spirals I vaccinate. But I live somewhere with loads of non-vaccinating people, and I don’t really care. Their kids will die, not mine. I know during COVID people suddenly all seemed to have a family member who was immuno-compromised, but my experience is that in the real world this is rare.

Well as an example babies under 1 are not vaccinated for MMR or chickenpox. They are at risk when others in the community choose not to vaccinate.
