In a trash can… Do you empty your cans even if they’re not full? |
Yes. I don't want any possible food stuffs left out in trash overnight inside. Not everything can go down the disposal. I literally have never heard of anyone not taking the trash out at night. |
OP I found your neighbor |
Yes, kitchen trash can has a lid. But I just never heard of people not taking kitchen/food trash out every night. I will say that I have a friend whose house always has a slight rotten food smell to it, and it is occurring to me that they don't take their trash out regularly. I would never not be friends with her because of it, but I always think something is rotting. A glass of wine and you forget all about it.

Hahaha, I'm the PP. And it does make me laugh thinking about a neighbor caring enough to comment on one of us bringing out one small bag a night. |
| Hmm. We compost in Arlington. Just took out a half full bag of trash since we haven’t taken it out in a week and they’re picking it up tomorrow. Compost goes out about twice a week. Recycling about twice a week. If we have a meet or fish package, that may go out the same day. |
| Cut up body parts need to be taken out every day. |
I've never met someone who takes their trash out every night. Even my germophobe parents don't do that. Trash cans have lids that close well. |
|
I have an almost-full bag every day. Like PP, I like to get rid of whatever is in the kitchen garbage can (with a lid) daily, because I think my house begins to smell like old food if I don't. (I don't compost, so spoiled produce goes into the garbage can).
the reason that daily bag is 'almost full' is because I have a lot of pets who always seem to mess up things. And the occasional pee pad |
Right ..family if 4 I take out 1 bag on garbage day. Can not imagine using up a bag every single day. We do compost so that helps. I am also mystified where all of peoples trash comes from. |
| You just don’t know what their circumstances are. Medical issues can create lots of waste. So can dismembering bodies in the basement. I’m sure there’s a lot in between. |
+1 But we break down boxes and store the recycling by the back door and take it (not a full bag) out nightly, so if someone was counting how often the lid banged they would think we were generating more trash than we are. |
| Maybe they're hoarders cleaning up... |
| 1 each of recycling and regular trash, 13 gal bags. |
| Once a week for the house and every two weeks for the barn, but there are only two of us. We recycle, and we keep organic garbage in the freezer because of bears. There's no smell because the smelly trash is frozen. |
