I’m not a big “don’t recline” person, but …

^^obnoxious. what makes you more special than everyone else? nobody has their seat reclined other than 1 or 2 very tall men, who I don’t begrudge.

You really don't fly much.

On short haul daytime flights, people aren’t reclining.

1) yes they are
2) who cares

What do you mean? Everyone has the option to recline, special has nothing to do with it

Look around you. Ask yourself why you are behaving differently than others and what entitles you to do that.

Free will? Being an adult? The fact that the seat reclines? I don't know take your pick.

Reclining your seat doesn’t give you any extra leg room so unless their head is literally bumping the ceiling one’s height is not really a relevant factor here. Just sounds like a stupid excuse for misogyny.

Exactly!!! Sitting upright is equally uncomfortable for everyone.

I just took two short, day time flights (3-4h), reclined on both and noticed probably 50% of other people reclining when I popped to the restroom. I was exhausted on the way back and slept most of the way. The small recline helped my back nd made it easier for me to wiggle around in my seat to find different/comfortable positions.

I try to not recline on any flight (including the 4 long hauls that I just took). I expect that people in front of me will recline, but I just look at it as a way to make the person behind me have a very slightly better experience. Sending that positivity out into the universe helps me stay in a more positive frame of mind too.

OP, how reclined was fully reclined?

I think different Airlines must have different amounts that a seat can fully recline. As the PP suggests, the airplanes I’ve flown have a maximum displacement of about 2 inches (if that) at the top of the seat where the arc is at its widest. Even if the top moves back 2 inches, due to the angle, the impact this should have on the legroom of the passenger behind them, being nearer the pivot point. I think most straightback chairs are about as reclined, and probably more so, than a fully reclined airplane seat.

If the passenger in front if you was able to recline more significantly, please tell us how much and what airline.

The price of my ticket and the seat options allow me to do that. I don't give a rat's ass what you or anyone else does.

Well, THAT’S obvious.

You could learn a lot from 16:14.

Yes how dare a woman (and a petite one at that) claim the space and seat functions that she has paid for!

Who cares if she may have a back injury or another physical disability that renders sitting bolt upright extremely painful. She’s clearly not as deserving as a big man.

There are so many people like you and you make life unnecessarily unpleasant. It's not about the reclining. It's this self-absorbed attitude. You also likely are a terrible driver, cut lines, think the rules don't apply to you, and yet complain loudly when you don't get your way. Honestly, you are a selfish jerk and you suck.

Yes, please share! I would love to find and frequently these airlines.

Short people are probably more likely to recline because they don’t understand what the problem is.

In all fairness, the rule is that people have the option to recline. PP is following the rules and you’re the one complaining (rudely, with name-calling) when you don’t get your way.

Hahahhahaa. No, I'm going to keep reclining since it's available to me. You are welcome to do the same.
