Most Painful part of Day Camp - What would you change?

The forms are pretty miserable. For instance, when do you think the last time your kid's camp directly called someone's pediatrician or dentist? I think never. They call the parent or call an ambulance.

Efficient pickup and dropoff process.

All required documents clearly identified at one time and all available online. For the love of god don't make me print off a health form, scan it, and load it to your system in one place, and have an emergency contact form in another place, and "about me" section in yet a third.

A carpool or contact list for those willing
Option to buy lunch
Weather insurance
Software to help match friends with camps
Ability to opt out of the camp t shirt and get $$ instead

Would be so nice if the expensive camps like Calleva had a bulk discount

I hate that you need to register in January to get a spot. I don’t know about my summer yet in January!

Bus service. I grew up attending a summer day camp that ran daily buses from local schools to the camp location, which was maybe 30 minutes from my house. Made the whole thing doable for parents, and the bus ride was fun.

1. Hours that don't match normal parent workdays.

2. Overpromising/underdelivering on camp's promised content/theme.

3. Forcing/badgering kids to do activities when they'd rather quietly observe or stare into space because they've grown tired of keeping to a schedule/being with other kids.
