There was a mom and young child playing in the yard across the street. My daughter and I both noticed. I waved. THE MOM JUST STARED AT US. It was peculiar.

Hahah ugh that’s so weird. There’s some super socially anxious people around here (code for something else) so I wouldn’t take it personally.

I would.

I mean, that’s valuable information about the neighborhood. Do you want to live across the street from them?

Yes. Realtors aren’t allowed to tell the whole truth about neighborhoods but neighbors can say whatever they want.

We leave interactions to the staff in our neighborhood.

Ugh NO

Our property is so large that even our staff never see the neighbours. *shrugs*

We always try to speak with anyone walking in the neighborhood when house hunting. I would not want to be hounded by someone, but a hello would be nice.

There are so many weird and rude people out there. This happens in so many situations. There’s a woman that I see every day walking at the same time and I used to smile and wave and then just smile and acknowledge her and she would just stare at me. I don’t even look her way anymore.

I was walking the dog when I saw a couple outside of my neighbor's house, which was for sale. I asked if they were thinking of buying it. They were. We then proceeded to have a very nice conversation and they asked me a lot of questions that I was happy to answer.
They are now my neighbors and I am happy about that and we are quite friendly.
This was not difficult.

yes! We found it very helpful to meet neighbors when we were house hunting. We also had prospective buyers approach us when we were outside at our last house and they were considering buying something in the neighborhood.

We are not talking about our country estates right now. Stay on topic.

I need some follow up. What's she like now?
