Cost of bathroom renovation in a condo

OP again: in addition to my first very expensive contractor I now have two bids (both contractors were recommended by friends or neighbors). One is for $12000 for labor, and the other is $20K. I am trying to figure out why such a big difference.

WE just had two bathrooms done. WE ripped everything out. We previously had linoleum and bath fitter like tub and shower. Did new tub/shower with tile to the ceiling, shower door, recess shelving. The bathrooms look amazing. It took them 3 weeks and was 26K for two. This included all fixtures.

He gave us an allowance for everything we went over on a few things ( I think original quote was closer to 25K).

There are contractors that want to do everything super luxury and build vanities from scratch and everything. I didn't need that. We used in stock tile from local stores.

Other contractors quoted me 50K, I obviously went with the one we picked. Bathrooms look beautiful, work is amazing. He answers me texts quickly, they showed up every day on time and let me know if any issues or anything arose ASAP.
