Where to shop for dorm bedding?

Are there special dorm bedding that I am not aware of?

Uh, what? Who is making their bed in college? lol.

DP. I did. I made my bed every morning, even the days I had 8am classes.

Usually - the beds in dorms are twin XL so you need bedding to fit that.

Macys has beautiful bedding options at good prices if you catch them on sale.

Marshalls is hit or miss, but has some deals as well. They’re particularly good for getting nice pillows, duvets and mattress pads at a discount.

I also like the bedding at Belk.

BB&B is still online, just fyi

My daughter bought her xl sheet sets at Target and got full comforters at I think AtHome (maybe one was Target, too?) We then found a really cute full duvet set at IKEA.

Yeah, probably more than she needs. But they were all cheap and the colors she wanted.

Pottery Barn -- the percale sheets are really nice, so even if the fitted sheet won't be useful outside a dorm, the rest of it is.

Target. We basically threw it out after freshman year since she was never going to be in a twin bed again.

Don’t bother with Pottery Barn (and I love Pottery Barn!). Target because some of that stuff is getting tossed at the end of the year.

Yes, but some colleges have moved away from XL long beds. UMD for one. So find out the size of the mattress before you buy. Furthermore, a great quality mattress topper, mattress protector is more important than the quality of sheets. You can also buy a bundle package from Dormify but the quality is really quite poor. My suggestion would be to buy from places like Walmart, kohls, target, Costco etc. I bought the mattress topper, mattress protector and pillow protectors from Amazon. Also, buy sheets that have deep pockets so that they can accommodate the toppers and do not slip.

Teach your kids to clean their rooms and bathroom, make bed, do laundry etc before they go to college.

My list of top dorm skills for your kids for college -
- How to change sheets and make bed every day.
- How to do laundry, fold clothes, hang clothes, iron or steam clothes and put it away in dressers
- How to clean room, vacuum, clean bathrooms and sanitize bathrooms (if ensuite bathroom is available).
- How to make simple meals - tea, coffee, ramen, rice, eggs, toast etc. Apart from the dining hall, most dorms also have a communal kitchen area with fridge, oven etc.
- How to clean dishes.
- How to take care of their health. This means that they get a full health check before they go to college, get a flu shot and a COVID shot etc.

Everyone who doesn't want to sleep on a sheet where their sweaty/unshowered/just came from biolab friend sat. Most dorm rooms don't have much seating besides the beds. Even my kid who never makes his bed at home managed to pull up his comforter every morning to protect the rest of his bed. lol.

What? Even my slob of a daughter pulls up a duvet, fluffs it and arranges the pillows. It takes about 60 seconds max.
