Maybe they're trying out a new distance. |
The entire internet would collapse without senselessly judgey folks. Why would anyone click over to DCUM without it? |
Sometimes I walk because I don’t want to jog anymore. It’s not that deep. Jog/walking 5 miles is more exercise than jogging three so I’m still coming out ahead. |
Nobody cares what you are doing. They are all wrapped in their own lives or problems. |
You don’t admire the pretty sporty gals who are always running by you at a strong clip? They look more vigorous is all. |
I would do this during the first three miles. I have no idea what the thing is about three miles but no matter what shape I’m in, the first three miles suck. Taking a walk break helped me get through them mid way and then after three miles I was good for another 7 miles easy. |
I do it because I am tired and feel like walking. |
OP: are you one of those people who started getting outdoors for the first time during lockdowns? I find a lot of people who aren't accustomed to exercising, especially outdoors, just don't have a good grasp on how it all works. |
+1 It has actually never occurred to me that anyone over the age of like 15 would judge me for walking during a run. I'm not a competition be athlete, just getting exercise. Sometimes I just go for a walk period and don't run at all. |
My husband runs several miles a day and he alternates jogging with walking. It is purposeful. |
![]() OP, I don't know why you care. Nevertheless, maybe they are beginners working their way up to being able to jog for longer distances. Not everyone can jog 10K distances. |
Apparently, some people do care. Hence OP's post. |
“Hot Girl Walk is a social media trend popularised on TikTok by influencer Mia Lind in 2021. It consists of a four-mile outdoor walk where participants think affirmations.” |
Me too! |
Walking is so much better for your joints. I know so many former long distance runners who did serious damage to their knees and hips, to the point where they needed replacements in their 40’s and 50’s. |
