| United Nations. 6 weeks paid vacation plus various holidays. Pension as well. But the pay is very low. I left for that reason. Even after assigning a monetary value to the 4 weeks extra days off compared to the private sector and the pension I am far better off in the private sector. |
Do you get to actually take it? Do you have similar rollover allowances and it’s paid out upon separation? |

A teacher’s job includes pay during the summer. It can be paid out evenly during the academic year, paid in a lump sum in the last paycheck of the academic year, or in fewer cases paid out over 12 months. If you can’t budget for this, that’s your problem. You can also find a summer job. |
18 weeks that 4 months and 2 weeks correct. It's like over 1/3 of the year for vacation. Honestly I could never imagine in his vacation deprived nation that someone could have such a privilege. Wow. Good for him. That's some serious work life balance lol |

Buddy of mine is a private practice nephrologist, made partner two years ago at age 35. He gets 11 weeks off but it’s pretty inflexible. The weeks are assigned 9+ months in advance. Plus, he has to work call one weekend per month. Very good lifestyle though. He has more money that he knows what to do with, even right now when he’s still paying into the partnership. Bought his condo in cash. Wife, no kids, intend on living child free. |
It includes part of their paychecks from the school year that they have opted to hold back so they can receive paychecks during the summer. It doesn't include pay during the summer because their contract is over. FTFY. |
